🆚 Local vs. Server — quick comparison

• Local — runs on your Mac. Private (audio never leaves device). Fewer languages. Slightly less accurate. No internet needed.
• Server — runs in our pipeline. 60+ languages. Higher accuracy. Faster on long recordings. Requires connection.
• Bridge (Pro+) — mix both: long recording transcribed locally with selected segments re-transcribed on the server.

✨ How to choose

1. Settings → Recording → Transcription Engine.

1. Default is Server. Switch to Local for sensitive meetings, or Bridge for mixed needs.
2. Per-recording override: right-click any recording → Re-transcribe → pick the engine.

Languages

• Server: 60+ languages incl. English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi
• Local: 17 core languages — full list in Settings → Recording → Language

<aside> ℹ️ If your meeting mixes languages, Server handles code-switching better than Local. Long single-language meetings are fine either way.
